Individual  counselling available Online and on thetelephone

About

My name is Nia Williams. I am a qualified integrative counsellor, who is  a registered member of the BACP.  I am currently offering online and telephone individual counselling, for anyone over the age of 16.  Once Covid 19 restrictions are lifted I will be offering face to face sessions again.

Counselling can be beneficial for people who are having issues in their personal lives. Issues include:

  • depression
  • anxiety
  • eating disorders
  • suicidal thoughts
  • childhood trauma
  • abuse
  • domestic abuse
  • PTSD
  • loss and bereavement
  • anger issues
  • self harm
  • relationship issues
  • stress

I work in an integrative way, which means that my way of working can be tailored to suit you. Counselling is an individual process, I believe that you are the expert on you and that everyone has different coping styles.  I believe that through exploring these, you can build on them and find a way for them to work for you.  Exploring your relationships can provide you with insight into who you are and how you relate to others.

My approach is drawn from several models, including person centred, psychodynamic, existential, humanistic and a small amount of CBT.  I believe that the relationship is  the most important factor in the counselling relationship.  I work to provide  a  safe and confidential space, to enable you to feel comfortable in opening up.

I have previously worked in the areas of: domestic abuse; mental health, including mental health advocacy and samaritans; and domiciliary care, which has provided me with an insight into the struggles of life. I have experience of working with trauma, suicidal thoughts, anxiety and depression, as well as with serious mental health problems.
